Beautiful waterfalls! More than 20 waterfalls dot the city landscape. And of course, this includes the famous Maria Cristina Falls. There is no denying where this city earned its reputation as "The City of Majestic Waterfalls.”

I was blessed with the opportunity in May 2005. My closest friends and classmates decided to hold our 33 year class reunion. It was a blast!

We walked the streets; we hung out at the plaza; we ate the best halo-halo at Zoey's Cafe. It felt surreal, like a journey back in time.

These are just a few of my favorite things. There is so much more to share - the beaches, the restaurants, the nightlife, the festivals and the arts.

After being away for many years, the changes are visible in all areas near and around town. Thousands have made this wonderful city their home in recent years.

Stores, big and small outline the city locale. Not an empty lot in sight.

While it still embraces that small city feeling, Iligan today is bustling with energy.

And should you make your Balikbayan trip during the month of September be prepared! The entire city vibrates to the beat of the drums welcoming the "Pagpakanaug" of the city's patron saint - St Michael, the Archangel - a celebration you truly don’t want to miss.
